Flashback With Wes Britton expands our online presence this week when we add Youtube to our broadcast platforms!

We launch our Youtube series with a repeat of our July 7, 2023, broadcast starring Peter Macon, who plays the Moclian crewman Lt. Commander Bortus on Seth MacFarlane’s comedy-drama, The Orville. Peter takes you behind the scenes, shares some alien makeup secrets (including an invasion of ants in his mask!), and some sneak peeks into Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes!

For five seasons, John Billingsley played Denobulan chief medical officer Dr. Phlox on Star Trek: Enterprise. For FWB, John entertains you with his engaging memories of Enterprise, his favorite episodes, his love of fans, and his hope that someday he’ll star in an unlikely new series, Old Fat Phlox. (That should give you a taste of his personality.)

Blues Society Interviews Wes Britton

The Blues Society of Central Pennsylvania kicked off 2025 with an interview with Wes Britton for the January-March 2025 issue of their newsletter Blues News.

Topics included Wesley’s background in media and radio, interviewing celebrities, writing, and his internet radio show Flashback with Wes Britton, which airs every weekend at 7 pm Eastern over the ArtistFirst Radio Network.

Wes Britton Hosts Martin Grams on Flashback Show

“You unlock this door with the key of imagination . . . .” Fans of Rod Serling’s 1959-1963 television anthology series The Twilight Zone will want to tune into Wes Britton’s online radio show Flashback with Wes Britton over the weekend of January 11, 2025, when TZ expert Martin Grams is the guest.

Martin will discuss his book The Twilight Zone: Unlocking the Door to a Television Classic (2008), which takes a deep, deep dive into the iconic TV series.

Vic Flick Tribute on Internet Radio Program

The weekend of December 7, 2024, share our special two-hour Memorial to iconic 007 guitar-man, Vic Flick, who left us on November 14, 2024!

Yes, Vic Flick was the guitarist who played the Monty Norman 007 theme back in 1962 and continued to play on the 007 soundtracks through the 1980s. Yes, he played “Ringo’s Theme” on A Hard Day’s Night. During the ‘60s, Vic was a much in demand London session player performing on hits for Tom Jones, Petula Clark, Peter and Gordon, The Walker Brothers, Herman’s Hermans . . .

On Saturday, December 7, 2024, two old friends of Vic, Wes Britton and Tom Pervanje, guitarist for the surf/spy/detective band, Spy-Fi, share their memories of Vic on Flashback with Wes Britton. Tom talks about the three albums Vic collaborated on with Spy-Fi; and Wes recalls helping Vic find a publisher for his memoirs and promoting his last album. Plus, we play a generous sampling of Vic/Spy-Fi music!

Then, on Remember Again, we reprise a 2010 interview Wes arranged with both Vic and George Lazenby together for likely the only time the two Bondians ever shared stories together! Plus, we play even more Vic Flick original music – plus a few 2024 Christmas songs from Joe Bonamassa and Rephestramus!

Memories of Vic Flick

I was sad, but not surprised, to hear about the passing of my old friend, Bond guitarist, Vic Flick.

A mutual friend, singer Bob Rush of the Ripchords, put Vic and me in contact a long, long time ago. As a result, Vic was the first celebrity guest on a radio show I co-hosted at the time. Three years later, I was elated to bring Vic and George Lazenby together for an anniversary special which turned out to be a “Vic Flick interviews George Lazenby” conversation. Those interviews are reposted at the “Flashback with Wes Britton” podcast page.

Back then, Vic was very frustrated trying to find a publisher for his memoirs. So I set him up with Ben Ohmart of BearManor Media. My autographed Vic Flick, Guitar Man is one of my treasures on my book shelf. I was sorry Vic was rather disappointed at the sales.

Along the way, Vic collaborated with my friend Thomas Pervanje of the surf-rock band, Spy-Fi, on their album, Black Tie Spy. Together, they recorded a soundtrack album for a never released spy comedy called Wilson Chance. You can hear samples from these projects, along with a selection of Vic’s 2000 James Bond Now instrumentals, and a tribute by David Foster in the Vic Flick Tribute album in the “James Bond Files” section on the website Spywise Secret Dossier.

(Tom tells me he just uploaded the entire Spy-Fi catalog to Bandcamp last week.)

Shore Leave, July 2024

From July 26-28, 2024, Wes and Grace Britton were guests at this year’s Shore Leave fan con at the Wyndham Lancaster Resort and Convention Center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania!

While there, Wes had a chance to meet in person three guests who recently appeared on his Flashback with Wes Britton radio show and podcast including the irrepressible J. G. Hertzler (Admiral Martok, among other roles, on Star Trek: Deep Space 9) ; the impressive BarBara Luna, a child star groomed by Rogers and Hammerstein who starred in “Mirror Mirror” on the original Star Trek; and the personable Robin Curtis, who among many memorable roles, was Lt. Savik in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock!
